Gökyüzü Green Lanes

Honestly it's very rare to celebrate a 100th year birthday and the Restaurant was lovely, many thanks to everyone who helped make this memorable occasion as nice as it could be x

Visiting in the UK, this restaurant was recommended by family members living in the neighborhood. It was an excellent suggestion. The food was delicious, savory and flavorful. The portions were much larger than the menu suggested and we enjoyed it all. Your most difficult choice is narrowing your selections from their extensive menu. You won't regret this meal.

A proper Turkish restaurant. It was such a nice experience. Nice food full of flavour and cooked properly, nice service and friendly. Really big portions. We tried a lot of dishes and apart from one dish we liked all the rest.

We visited Gokyuzu and tried the breakfast sharing platter—it was absolutely amazing! Everything was so fresh and flavorful, and there was plenty for everyone to enjoy. My little one especially loved all the fruit and had so much fun dipping the simit into all the little spreads and treats they served. The service was also fantastic—friendly, attentive, and made the whole experience even better. We can’t wait to come back!

Met with my friends for an afternoon of catching up. Atmosphere and decor is very nice in this venue. Warm welcome and service. The food is typical for the area so nothing surprising. However I felt the food that was ordered did not meet my expectations in the end. It was to serve 5 people. There was a lot of meat but in my opinion not enough rice. Usually there is so much food you can take some away.

My friend who lives around Hampstead introduced me to this place last year and since then we’ve been regular here to enjoy some genuinely good Turkish food!! The service here is always nice and the mixed platter is very generous and serves delicious meats alongside salad and Turkish rice! A must have and definitely bring your friends along! Good value for money! This time we were served by Havni & Yaren who were great hosts and we recommend them for their attention to detail and hospitality

Really enjoyed a Friday evening meal here. The food was excellent, the service couldn’t be better, courteous and friendly. Portions were incredibly generous, everything was tasty, and I appreciated the free salad, bread, yoghurt dish and Turkish tea. The Turkish restaurants on Upper St, Islington have stopped giving salad etc at the start of the meal — which I associate with a good Turkish meal — so I’d rather come here. I was made to feel welcome as a single customer and given a nice table in the early evening. The dinner was reasonably priced given the generosity of the servings. Only shame was that I couldn’t get a small portion of the fresh chili sauce that often comes with the chicken/meat dishes, they only serve it as a large (paid) portion. One of the waiters kindly gave me some anyway, but I would suggest this is also made available for tables of 1 or 2, as it really complements the meats so nicely. Highly recommend this place, also there is a nice buzzy atmosphere and no loud music on the night that I visited, so a more relaxed atmosphere despite the buzz, customers didn’t need to shout to be heard.
